On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, King James officially announced the MTN Iwacu Muzika Festival during a press conference at Intare Conference Arena. Accompanied by six fellow artists, he shared his plans for this musical tour, which will traverse Rwanda's provinces.
Reconnecting with Fans Nationwide
Speaking exclusively to InyaRwanda, King James revealed that the festival is an opportunity to reconnect with fans from all regions of the country. It also serves as the start of his preparations for a grand concert in Kigali to culminate 20 years in the music industry.
“This will allow me to engage not just personally but also include fans unable to attend the final concert in Kigali. Hosting MTN Iwacu Muzika concerts in rural areas helps ensure that everyone can participate. It's a remarkable step forward in what I envision for my celebrations,” King James stated.
Global Ambitions and Kigali Finale
The celebrated artist disclosed plans to host large-scale concerts internationally—in Europe, the United States, and beyond—which will conclude with a monumental event in Kigali marking his two-decade musical journey.
Memorable Moments from the Past
King James reflected on his experiences from 2024, where he was warmly received by fans in various provinces during events tied to presidential campaigns. He noted that those moments reaffirmed his deep connection with Rwandan audiences.
MTN Iwacu Muzika Festival 2025: A Nationwide Celebration
The MTN Iwacu Muzika Festival, commencing on July 5, 2025, is geared toward showcasing Rwandan talent and fostering stronger bonds between artists and fans. Below is the official concert schedule:
- Musanze – July 5, 2025
- Gicumbi – July 12, 2025
- Nyagatare – July 19, 2025
- Ngoma – July 26, 2025

King James emphasized that the MTN Iwacu Muzika Festival is a pivotal part of his journey to commemorate 20 years of bringing joy to audiences.
“Celebrating 20 years in music is not just about achievement; it's about staying committed to my purpose of spreading joy to thousands worldwide,” said King James.
