Entertainment lovers have plenty to look forward to, as the events will run for 10 days, from December 24, 2025, to January 2, 2026, turning the City of Kigali into a lively hub filled with celebration, creativity, and excitement.
The Mayor of the City of Kigali, Samuel Dusengiyumva, said the initiative is part of a broader city program known as “Umujyi Ushyushye” (The Vibrant City), which seeks to keep Kigali active and enjoyable for its residents throughout the year.
“We prepared this space for our citizens here at KCC. As you know, this venue has hosted historic events, including major cycling competitions. We said, ‘Let this place continue to serve our people by offering them moments of joy.’ After contributing to the city’s development all year long, we felt it was right to give back to them through entertainment,” the mayor said.
The end-of-year festivities, popularly known as the ‘Kigali Countdown Fest,’ continue today, with a Family Dayscheduled to take place at the KCC Roundabout, where families are expected to gather and enjoy quality time together in a festive setting.
Mayor Dusengiyumva expressed his gratitude to the various partners who contributed to the successful launch of the initiative, applauding their support in bringing joy and entertainment to Kigali residents and visitors alike.
Beyond entertainment, several designated areas have been set up around KCC to provide food and beverage services, as well as comfortable spaces where people can sit, relax, and socialize in a cheerful and welcoming environment.
Karim Tuyishime, Communications Officer at Skol Brewery Limited, stated that food and drink services will be available throughout the day during the entire 10-day festival period.
These concerts and activities are expected to add a unique and memorable touch to the closing of 2025 and the welcoming of 2026, offering Kigali residents a peaceful, joyful, and social way to celebrate the festive season together.
