Khalfan Accuses Marina of Overshadowing His Song "We Made It" With New Release

Rwandan artist Khalfan criticizes Marina for releasing "Ndarahira" shortly after their collaboration "We Made It," claiming it's a deliberate attempt to overshadow his track. He demands a public apology or vows to reveal their wrongdoings online.

Khalfan has openly expressed frustration, labeling Marina's actions as disrespectful. His song "We Made It" had recently gained popular traction, giving him renewed confidence to reestablish his presence in Rwanda's music industry after a long hiatus.

However, when Marina released her new single titled "Ndarahira" this past Saturday, Khalfan felt the timing was strategically aimed at diluting the success of his track. He has vowed to take down his song and publicly hold Marina accountable.

Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, Khalfan stated: "I am usually an artist who is patient and coexists peacefully with others, but the level of disrespect in the music industry right now is unacceptable."

He elaborated further: "You collaborate with an artist, and together you create something meaningful. For instance, the track ‘We Made It’ I recently worked on with Jay C and Marina. It’s barely eight days old, and suddenly another song is released, seemingly intended to overshadow it."

"This behavior is pure disrespect." Khalfan asserted. "Marina and all her collaborators need to issue a public apology on social media. If they fail to do so, I intend to expose them and reveal other wrongdoings on public platforms."

Despite his strong stance, Khalfan clarified that his frustration is not rooted in personal anger against Marina. Instead, he views Marina's move as an inappropriate choice that failed to bolster their collaborative effort. According to him, Marina should have focused on supporting the promotion of their track.

He encouraged the public to consider his appeal, saying: "Thank you, Rwandans. My intention is not driven by anger, but think about the principle—when you work together with someone, shouldn’t the goal be to push the project forward together rather than releasing another one prematurely?”
