Upon arriving at Kigali International Airport on Friday, August 15, 2025, Joshua Baraka expressed his excitement about returning to Kigali, a city where his work is warmly embraced by fans. He shared: “I’m happy to be back in Kigali. I feel so supported here, and I’m thrilled to be back. I’ve been preparing and training — I want to give you my very best.”
Joshua's arrival follows his performance at the Afro Nation Festival, where he had a fantastic experience and networked with other artists to expand his international reach. He remarked: “Afro Nation was incredible. I needed to be there to connect with various artists. It was such a valuable experience for my music journey.”
Feeling at home in Rwanda, Joshua Baraka often enjoys the country’s hospitality and its diverse local cuisines during his visits. “Rwanda feels like home—I always feel welcomed and comfortable here,” he stated.
Before returning to Uganda, Joshua shared his aspirations to collaborate with admired Rwandan artists such as Bruce Melodie, Mike Kayihura, Element, and Kivumbi King. “There are so many talented artists here, and I feel it’s possible to work with them,” he expressed.
The young Ugandan artist, who first visited Rwanda by bus to promote his early music, reflected on the growth of African music and his pride in contributing to its development. “African music is booming, and I’m honored to play a role in its expansion,” he emphasized.
Although identifying as Ugandan, Joshua disclosed his roots, revealing he was born to a Rwandan mother. He also shared his future vision of stepping away from music by the age of 40.
Excited for the opportunity to collaborate, Joshua praised Dj Pius, who invited him to perform at his 15-year music anniversary concert. “Dj Pius achieved great success with his hit ‘Nana,’ created under pressure. It’s such an inspiring story, and I look forward to sharing a stage with him,” Joshua commented.
Dj Pius expressed his delight in hosting Joshua Baraka, calling the event a historic moment. He chose Joshua for his talent and their good working relationship.
