The celebrated East African artist shared the news with his fans on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, through his social media platforms, expressing gratitude to God and to the medical team that treated him.
In a message posted on Instagram, he wrote: “I thank God for granting me another beautiful day! I am grateful to Dr. Ludovica Tindebwa and the entire team at Kampala Eye & Lasik Hospital for performing my eye surgery and taking such good care of me. I was rapidly losing vision in my right eye. As always, Lord, I pray for continued healing.”
Chameleone revealed that he had been experiencing a fast decline in vision in his right eye, which led doctors to recommend urgent surgery to prevent the condition from worsening.
He also shared a photo from his hospital bed, smiling despite wearing a medical eye patch over his right eye, reassuring fans that the procedure had gone well.
The surgery was carried out at Kampala Eye & Lasik Hospital, a specialized eye care facility located in the Kisementi area of Kampala, known for advanced eye treatment and surgical procedures. The operation was performed by Dr. Ludovica Tindebwa and her team, with the aim of preserving his eyesight.
This development comes at a time when the artist has been facing several health challenges. In recent months, Chameleone had traveled abroad for treatment after being diagnosed with acute pancreatitis.
His son previously told the media that his father had been battling the illness for some time and warned about the health risks associated with excessive alcohol consumption, which was reportedly linked to his condition.
Despite these health struggles, Chameleone continues to receive overwhelming support from fans, friends, and fellow artists, who are wishing him a speedy recovery and a full return to his normal life and music career.
