Ugandan singer Jose Chameleone and his wife Daniella Atim tied the knot on June 7, 2008, and together they have five children. However, in March 2025, Daniella filed for divorce, citing mistreatment, lack of love, and inadequate support as the reasons behind her decision.
Daniella explained that her move to seek divorce was driven by years of emotional distress and depression endured during their marriage. She accused Chameleone of neglecting her for up to five years, leaving her with the sole responsibility of raising their children.
As part of her court petition, Daniella requested full custody of their five children, complete ownership of their family home located in Makindye, Kampala, financial assistance from Chameleone to support both her and the children, as well as reimbursement for the legal costs incurred during the proceedings.
According to reports by Big Eye Media, Chameleone has opposed several of Daniella's demands. He expressed his willingness to continue supporting his children but insisted that the Makindye home should belong to the children instead of being handed over to Daniella alone. He further requested visitation rights, stating that Daniella had taken the children away from him.
Addressing allegations of negligence, Chameleone defended himself by highlighting the 2018 agreement to relocate their family to the United States.
Additionally, Chameleone clarified that he had purchased the Makindye home independently. He argued that both he and Daniella possessed financial resources and should collaborate in raising their children.
With their divorce proceedings still ongoing, this marks the conclusion of a 17-year love story that had been admired by many across Uganda.
