In an emotional message, she shared: “I’m leaving. God has blessed us with the opportunity to move to the United States. We are relocating as a family. On one hand, it’s a good thing because the father of my children has been there, but it’s also painful to leave behind family, friends, loved ones, and the place you are used to.”
Jesca, who previously ministered at Noble Family Church and Women Foundation Ministries, received a heartfelt send-off at Kigali International Airport in Kanombe. Fans and fellow believers expressed mixed emotions—joy for her new chapter and sadness at her departure from Rwanda’s gospel scene.
Widely loved for her powerful worship songs such as Shimwa, Yesu Arashoboye, and Jehovah Adonai, Jesca Mucyowera has built a strong reputation in Rwanda’s gospel music industry. Her music has inspired and uplifted many, both locally and internationally.
Before her move, she hosted a landmark concert titled “Restoring Worship Experience,” which became one of the most talked-about gospel events in Rwanda. She also released three songs from her upcoming third album, including Nta mpamvu, Amaraso, and Ndiwe, the latter featuring Tresor Nguweneza.
Speaking to the media at the airport, Jesca described her relocation as a divine surprise: “It’s an amazing surprise that God has done for me. I knew it would happen, but I didn’t expect it now.”
She admitted that while she is happy to reunite with her husband, leaving Rwanda has been emotionally challenging. She highlighted the difficulty of raising children and managing her music career alone while her husband was abroad, adding that he plays a major role in her music journey—so much so that she considers him her “main manager.”
Jesca reassured her fans that they should expect even greater things from her moving forward: “They are going to see more than what they have seen before.”
A mother of four, Jesca has been married to Nkundabatware Gabin since 2015. About six years ago, she began her solo music career after gaining recognition as part of the gospel group Injili Bora, where she wrote the popular song Shimwa.
Her songs, including Jehovah Adonai and Yesu Arashoboye, have garnered nearly two million views on YouTube, reflecting her growing fan base. Other popular tracks include Ntazagutererana, Ndiwe, and Nta mpamvu.
On November 2, 2025, she held a major concert at Camp Kigali alongside Alarm Ministries, True Promises, and Rwibutso Emma. The event was widely attended, with Apostle Mignonne Kabera delivering a sermon and supporting her with a contribution of 5 million Rwandan Francs.
When asked whether that concert was a farewell event, Jesca clarified that it was not planned as such, as her move to the United States came unexpectedly.
Despite relocating, Jesca Mucyowera assured her fans that she will continue to actively pursue her music career, spreading the message of worship and praise while expanding her ministry on a global scale.
Her move to the United States is widely seen as a new chapter in both her personal life and music ministry, with many eagerly watching how she will grow her international presence and continue to glorify God through her talent.
