Miss Rwanda 2020 star Diane Ingabire celebrates her engagement on Instagram as she prepares for her wedding in September 2025, while pursuing big dreams in filmmaking.

Ingabire Diane, the vibrant young woman who proudly shared dancing photos after receiving her engagement ring, took to Instagram to express her happiness. She captioned the pictures with touching words, “I said Yes,” and “Forever mine,” celebrating her decision to embark on a new journey as she prepares for marriage.

Bombi batangaje ko ubukwe bwabo buzaba hagati ya tariki ya 20 Nzeri kugeza ku ya 27 Nzeri 2025. Ntibatangaje aho buzabera cyangwa uko gahunda izaba iteye.

Ingabire Diane gained national attention in 2020 as a contestant in Miss Rwanda, where she was crowned Miss Congeniality. Her warmth, humanity, and ability to connect with others won hearts, and she championed a powerful project to fight unintended pregnancies among young girls.

After the competition, Diane took some time away from the spotlight but recently revived her presence in the media and on social networks. She has been prominently engaging in campaigns promoting technological tools.

Her recent journey into acting marks another exciting chapter in her life. Diane revealed to InyaRwanda that she realized her dream of entering Rwanda’s cinematic world with the support of actor Rukundo Arnold, popularly known as Shaffy. He helped pave her way into filmmaking.

Diane shared that her introduction to acting began with courage and taking initiative, asking Shaffy to mentor her as she embarked on this new journey.

She recalls the moment fondly: “Shaffy has always been my friend. I reached out to him, explaining my passion for acting. He organized a casting session where he tested my potential and found me capable of doing it. That’s how he supported me in joining the cinema world."

Starting out in Shaffy’s films opened doors for Diane and earned her recognition within the industry. Other filmmakers began casting her in their productions, helping her expand her reputation.

Reflecting on her experience, Diane noted, “Acting gave me opportunities to connect with others in the industry, broaden my knowledge, and grow as an actress. Today, I feel proud of how far I’ve come because these experiences enabled me to feature in renowned Rwandan films. It also became a source of income that sustains my daily life."

She admits that while her first day in front of the camera was nerve-racking, her love for acting made it easier to adapt. Diane explained, “Starting in something new, especially in front of the camera, can be intimidating. But because I was doing something I loved and believed in, I was able to adapt quickly and connect with others."

Beyond achieving success in acting, Diane is determined to extend her reach. She aspires to produce her own films and aims to support young girls who dream of becoming actresses by creating opportunities for them.

She shared, “My dream in cinema is to reach a level where I can have my own films and assist other dreamers like me—those who haven’t found platforms to showcase their talent can also grow."

Diane encourages young women who dream of entering the film industry to cultivate courage, self-belief, and a willingness to seize every opportunity that comes their way.

She emphasized, “As a young woman aspiring to act, you need to have broad thinking and believe that everything is possible. Have courage, see your talent as a viable path, and pursue your craft with determination and passion."

Adding on, Diane cautioned against negativity: “Avoid letting negativity discourage you. When you enter the film industry, you’ll hear many opinions—some constructive, others critical. Stay focused on your dreams and keep pushing forward."
