The eagerly awaited Hip Hop Festival is set for July 4 and 5, 2025, at the Institut Français du Rwanda in Kiyovu. This premier event celebrates Hip Hop culture in Rwanda, promising an unforgettable experience for music and art enthusiasts.
Organized by Green Ferry Music, a notable music label championing emerging Hip Hop talents, this festival remains the only platform in Rwanda dedicated solely to the genre.
Attendees will enjoy a variety of exhilarating activities that embody the spirit of Hip Hop, including live performances from acclaimed artists and rising stars, electrifying breakdance competitions, immersive exhibitions, DJ sets, dynamic fashion shows, and much more centered around Hip Hop.
Green Ferry Music expressed their commitment to the culture, stating: “Our goal is to celebrate the Hip Hop culture and its profound impact on the Rwandan community. We unite artists, dancers, illustrators, DJs, fashion creatives, and Hip Hop fans for moments of connection, education, and transformation.”
Launched in 2017 as a series of concerts staged around Kigali, the festival has transformed into a flagship annual event. Over seven years, it has significantly influenced Rwanda's Hip Hop scene, offering a dedicated stage for emerging artists to showcase and cultivate their talents.
The 2025 lineup is packed with some of Rwanda's biggest Hip Hop names, including Bull Dogg, a trailblazer of the genre in Rwanda; P-Fla, known for his hard-hitting lyrics; and Jay C, celebrated for his inspirational and soulful music.
They will join a diverse roster of talented acts, including Barick Music, Afrojiggy, AY, Big Zed, Chaka Fella, DJ Black, TheDiceKid, Sano Boi, DJ Samish, Hollix, G-LLain, Hunni, DJ Gulain, Josskid, White Monkey, Taz, Ngaara, NzeeyTheGreat, Racine, Pogatsa, Redink, Romeo Rapstar, Rosh Knight, DJU Griffin, Icenova, Underworra, Kingz Band, and Zeo Trap.
Green Ferry Music emphasizes that this festival is not just entertainment; it is also a platform to support Rwandan talent, promote Hip Hop culture, and elevate the genre on a regional scale.
