Musabe first rose to prominence in 2010 with his breakthrough song “Nzamubona,” which introduced a fresh vocal style to Rwanda’s gospel scene. He is widely recognized as one of the pioneers of integrating Pop and RnB influences into modern Rwandan gospel music.
Over the years, he has collaborated with notable artists such as Dominic Ashimwe, Eddie Mico, and Serge Iyamuremye. His popular songs include “Network,” “Visa,” “Nzamubona,” “Ndamufite,” “Naranyuzwe,” and “Ubu Nje uko ndi.”
With over 15 years in gospel music and as a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Musabe has now made a significant move into academia. He is currently teaching at University of Lay Adventists of Kigali (UNILAK).
He revealed that he teaches courses aligned with his expertise, including Banking and Financial Services, and plans to introduce additional subjects such as Money and Banking and other Business Administration courses. His teaching is strongly rooted in practical experience gained from working in banking and financial sectors.
In an interview with InyaRwanda, Musabe shared his passion for teaching: “Teaching is something I truly love. I previously worked as an Assistant Lecturer, helping students better understand their courses, and even as a student, I enjoyed explaining concepts to others.”
His academic work is closely connected to his business activities. He is the founder and Chief Tax Consultant of Musabe Consultancy Company Ltd, which operates in Kigali and Kayonza.
As a Certified Tax Professional, he explains that his consultancy work is also a form of teaching and has opened many doors for him: “It has opened doors that were previously closed".
"The consultancy and tax advisory services we provide are also a form of teaching, which makes the transition into lecturing easier. We have spent five years offering consultancy and tax advisory services. Additionally, Taxation is a university course that we will also be teaching.”
Addressing common challenges faced by business owners, Musabe pointed out that many fail to comply with government regulations, especially regarding taxes. He highlighted the example of Income Tax, which must be declared before March 31, 2026, noting that some businesses are still unprepared with proper financial records.
“A major mistake many people make is ignoring government regulations as if they don’t concern them. This often comes from not consulting experts or doing proper research before starting a business… For example, the annual income tax must be filed before March 31, 2026, yet many have not prepared their accounting records.”
He advises all business owners to work with tax professionals to avoid financial losses and legal issues: “My advice is that every business owner should have a tax consultant or advisor. If possible, they should even formalize this through a contract to ensure accountability and avoid negligence.”
Despite stepping into academia, Musabe Dieudonné emphasized that he will not abandon gospel music, as it is both his calling and a core part of his life. He revealed that he has released a second album titled “Naranyuzwe,” following his previous album “Duhindure Isi,” both available on his YouTube channel.
“I will never stop gospel music because it is my calling and my daily life. I have a second album out titled ‘Naranyuzwe,’ following my previous album ‘Duhindure Isi.’”
Musabe holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA in Finance), obtained between 2023 and 2025, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA in Accounting), earned between 2014 and 2017—both from Adventist University of Central Africa (AUCA).
Between 2014 and 2017, he also served as an Accounting Coach at AUCA, teaching courses in Finance, Taxation, Banking, and Statistics. His professional experience spans multiple sectors, including banking (such as BPR), industry, import business, and logistics.
