Gospel Star Meddy Establishes a Church – VIDEO

Internationally celebrated musician Kitoko Bibarwa returns to Rwanda for a fresh chapter, shares Meddy’s online church venture, and plans an epic concert with Davido.

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, internationally acclaimed artist Kitoko Bibarwa revealed during a press interaction that his close friend Meddy has founded an online church. The virtual platform hosts engaging prayer sessions every Saturday, and Kitoko highlighted his frequent participation in these spiritual gatherings.

“Meddy has always been deeply rooted in faith,” Kitoko shared, adding that his friend was born-again long before openly expressing it. “He is an inspiring family man and his online church facilitates meaningful worship every weekend.”

Continuing, Kitoko recounted the depth of their friendship, which dates back to their formative days in music. He nostalgically reflected on their first encounter during Meddy’s early rise to fame with the hit song “Amayobera.”

Reflecting further, Kitoko described an unforgettable moment when they performed together at South Africa’s World Cup—an event that significantly strengthened their bond. He explained, “We first connected in Butare, quickly becoming involved in many projects. That World Cup performance is one of those cherished milestones.”

Their camaraderie continued to flourish, evidenced by mutual visits in the U.S. and UK over the years. Kitoko affirmed, “Meddy is more than just a collaborator; he is a lifelong friend. We talk weekly. If he returns to Rwanda, we could organize a spectacular concert together.”

Kitoko’s return after 12 transformative years abroad brings renewed excitement to Rwanda’s music scene. Having spent over a decade in the UK focusing on personal and musical goals, Kitoko’s homecoming marks the beginning of new creative endeavors.

On arriving in Kigali on Sunday, November 9, 2025, Kitoko announced his intent to reconnect with fans through exciting upcoming projects—including a highly anticipated joint performance with Nigerian superstar Davido. Sponsored by Skol, the concert is scheduled for December 15, 2025, at BK Arena.

Discussing his return, Kitoko shared, “I’ve always dreamed of bonding deeply with my fans, and I’m back to make that happen. Living abroad can be beneficial but also distracting if done without clear goals. My return is intentional; I’m here to rekindle those ties with my audience. Despite early successes, I couldn’t fully dedicate myself to music until now.”

Having observed a stark difference in how professionalism shapes artistry in the UK, Kitoko is eager to bring that refined approach to Rwanda’s music industry. “Artistry abroad is handled with far more dedication and strategy compared to back home,” he remarked.

Kitoko’s vision for his comeback includes fresh music releases and stellar live performances that will further cement his connection with fans.
