On Thursday morning, September 4, 2025, fans and the gospel community were saddened by the tragic announcement of Gogo's passing. The celebrated gospel artist died while on a ministry mission in Uganda, where she had been actively engaging in evangelical activities.
Reports indicate that Gogo had been battling a heart condition. InyaRwanda has learned that she died of a condition known as "Asphyxia"—a condition resulting from insufficient oxygen, often described as ‘loss of breath’ or ‘respiratory failure’.”
Bikem wa Yesu [Bikorimana Emmanuel], Gogo’s media representative, formally confirmed the shocking news. In a heartfelt tribute shared on social media, he wrote, "R.I.P Gogo. What terrible news. God, please strengthen my heart." Bikem was accompanying Gogo during her tour of Uganda, which included major events such as her performance at Pastor Wilson Bugembe’s church.
Born in 1989 in Rwamagana, located in Rwanda's Eastern Province, Gogo spent her upbringing as a devout Anglican Christian. She faced early hardships, losing both parents at a young age.
Her musical breakthrough came in 2024 with her hit song "Blood of Jesus," which soared in popularity across social media platforms. The track’s success extended globally, being covered by influential artists from various countries.
