General Patrick Nyamvumba visited Rayon Sports in Tanzania as the team prepared for their crucial second-leg encounter against Singida Black Stars FC in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup 2025. The pivotal match is set to take place on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
The Ambassador of Rwanda to Tanzania, General Patrick Nyamvumba, highlighted Rayon Sports’ stature as one of Rwanda’s premier football teams. He urged the players to embrace their strength and reminded them that despite their defeat in Kigali, they could still make a resounding comeback in Tanzania.
He stated: “When you’re here, we take full responsibility for you. Beyond the key role of sports, we wholeheartedly support your team, which symbolizes our nation’s pride. You know the mission ahead, what we hope for, and what we ask of you. If setbacks occurred in Kigali, this is your chance to rise and set a new course for success.”
General Nyamvumba encouraged the Rayon Sports players not to underestimate their opponents while cultivating unwavering self-confidence. He remarked: “I won’t claim Singida is an easy team to beat because any competition requires respecting your adversary. However, you must walk into the game with a strong belief in your capabilities, demonstrating that no challenge is insurmountable.”
The Ambassador underscored the ultimate goal: achieving victory. He also stressed how international matches transcend internal rivalries, uniting everyone with a shared purpose. He commented, “Our request to you as Rwandan representatives in Tanzania is simple: win. Here, we leave behind domestic disputes and focus solely on supporting you. What occurred in Kigali can be turned around here, as Singida is a team whose strengths are familiar to us.”
Nyamvumba vowed to rally local fans to back Rayon Sports during this decisive moment. “We will reach out to the widest fan base possible to energize your efforts and cheer for your victory. The responsibility lies with you; we will fully stand by you. You possess everything required to succeed, including an experienced coach,” he emphasized.
Rayon Sports captain Serumogo Alt Omar expressed his appreciation for the Ambassador’s uplifting words and assured the team’s readiness to exceed expectations. He declared, “We’re grateful for the Ambassador’s visit and the motivational support he has provided. This encouragement has fueled our determination, and we are ready to give maximum effort. Our main goal is to eliminate Singida and progress deeper into the tournament.”
