Bwiza Emerance’s parents, Karake Emanuel and Uwimana Jeane, shared heartfelt tributes to their daughter’s inspiring music career during the monumental Bwiza Gala Night. In a documentary screened at the event, they recounted how Bwiza’s love for music shone brightly even as a child. Spending countless hours singing songs by legendary American artists, she showcased exceptional talent and enthusiasm that hinted at her future stardom.
Uwimana Jeanne, her mother, passionately shared: “To Bwiza, I want to say, 'I love you.' Keep being who you are and work toward making your country proud. Happy birthday, Mama Bwiza loves you.”
Karake Emanuel, her father, reflected: on Bwiza’s early passion. He said, “Bwiza grew up loving to sing, often mimicking American female artists with a voice full of emotion and talent. As a parent, I could foresee the successful path my child would embark on.”
He added, “Eventually, Bwiza started performing gospel songs at her church, where she naturally stood out as a lead singer.”
Bwiza’s compassion and kindness: have been defining traits alongside her musical talent. Her mother shared a touching memory from Bwiza’s fourth year in secondary school, when she advocated tirelessly to help a classmate at risk of dropping out due to unpaid tuition fees. Bwiza’s dedication inspired her family to step in and cover the classmate’s expenses.
She explained, “Bwiza grew up with a loving heart and took on responsibilities early. In her fourth year of secondary school, she worried deeply about a bright classmate struggling financially. She made us aware and motivated us until we took action [...]”
Karake Emanuel praised his daughter’s progress: in music, stating, “How you started and where you are now are vastly different, showcasing true growth. You've made music an integral part of your life—it's not something superficial you chase. My dream for you is to reach far beyond the heights you envision for yourself, and those heights are my dream as well.”
He added, “Most importantly, Bwiza, I wish you a beautiful birthday. Continue to grow, cherish the values we instilled in you, and achieve the towering success you deserve.”
From gospel beginnings to professional stardom: Born on August 9, 1999, Bwiza launched her music career in 2021 after winning the “The Next Diva – Indi Mbuto” competition organized by KIKAC Music. Following a recording deal, she quickly rose to fame with multiple tracks, particularly her hit song "Ready" from 2022, which cemented her name in Rwanda’s music scene.
Album highlights: In 2023, Bwiza released her debut album, “My Dreams,” featuring 14 songs, followed by her second album, “25 Shades,” in 2025, which included 12 tracks.
Major achievements: Her remarkable journey has earned her prestigious titles such as Best Female Artist of the Year 2023 (Isango na Muzika Awards) and Best Female Artist of the Year and Best Album of 2023 (Karisimbi Entertainment Awards).
