Miss Jolly Mutesi shared her insights in response to a message from Kamoso Quemo, who proposed that she take on a role in government leadership as an ambassador and advisor for youth and women in Rwanda.
Kamoso Quemo wrote: "Jolly Mutesi deserves an honorable position in the Government, serving as an ambassador and advisor for women in Rwanda. She should be someone others look up to. She is worthy of greater recognition."
In her thoughtful reply, Miss Mutesi expressed gratitude for the admiration while highlighting that contributing to national growth should not be confined to holding government positions.
She said: "Thank you so much for your kind words of appreciation. I am truly humbled by them. Regarding joining leadership, it’s something I have never considered. However, doing politics or contributing to the growth of the country does not only happen by holding public office."
She elaborated further: "In reality, everything we do is connected to politics, and we are all Rwandans participating in politics in one way or another. We all should strive to be responsible citizens and put effort into excelling in our roles."
Miss Mutesi's statements underline her belief in the shared responsibility of every citizen in fostering Rwanda's development. She advocates that making an impact doesn’t depend solely on authoritative positions; every individual can contribute through their profession, family responsibilities, and social involvement.
