Elijah Kitaka of Swangz Avenue Collaborates with Marina, Shaffy, and Other Rwandan Artists

Ugandan singer Elijah Kitaka, who is signed to the renowned music label Swangz Avenue, has been in Kigali, Rwanda, in recent days on a special visit aimed at touring different parts of the country and working on new music projects with Rwandan artists.

Recently, Elijah Kitaka shared photos and videos on social media showing him alongside DJ Pius, as they toured various parts of the city of Kigali. His visit was not an ordinary trip, as it was marked by several recording projects, part of his efforts to expand and strengthen his music career on the international stage.

Among the artists who collaborated with Elijah Kitaka is Shaffy, best known for the hit song “Akabanga.” Shaffy returned to the United States on the night of Wednesday, January 21, 2026, after spending several days in Kigali.

In an interview with InyaRwanda, Shaffy confirmed that he recorded a song with Elijah Kitaka and revealed that it is one of the projects expected to make a strong impact this year.

"Yes, we did record a song together, and it is one of the best songs that will be released this year," Shaffy said. He also added that during his stay in Kigali, he worked on several other songs with different Rwandan artists.

On the other hand, DJ Pius, who hosted Elijah Kitaka in Rwanda, confirmed that among the projects recorded in Kigali is a song that brings together Elijah Kitaka and singer Marina. The track is part of DJ Pius’ new projects, in which he plays the role of coordinator and producer rather than performing as a singer.

DJ Pius explained that he is currently focusing on bringing different artists together on collaborative songs, giving them a platform to showcase their talents.

"This is my project. It is part of a direction I have chosen, where I create songs that unite different artists while I remain behind the scenes. It is similar to what DJ Khaled does, bringing artists together without singing on the track himself," he said.

There is also another artist from a music label who collaborated with Elijah Kitaka, but both sides have chosen not to disclose the name at this time.

These collaborations between Elijah Kitaka and Rwandan artists reflect the growing efforts to strengthen regional musical connections, a move expected to contribute to the promotion of African music on the international stage.

Elijah Kitaka is a Ugandan singer and songwriter who has won the hearts of many with his blend of Afrobeat, Soul, and R&B. He began his musical journey at a young age, showing remarkable talent in singing and songwriting, particularly through songs that explore love, life, and human emotions.

His name gained wider recognition after joining Swangz Avenue, one of East Africa’s most influential music labels. There, he continued to refine his craft, working with experienced producers and developing a sound that meets international standards.

Through his music, Elijah Kitaka has developed a unique style that blends modern rhythms with his personal identity, making him popular among both young and older audiences.

He has released several successful songs in Uganda and neighboring countries, establishing himself as one of the region’s most promising rising artists.

As part of his expansion strategy, Elijah Kitaka has begun working in other countries, including Rwanda, where he has collaborated with local artists, demonstrating a clear vision to promote regional music and take it to the global stage.

The artist continues to invest heavily in new music projects and collaborations, a sign of a steadily rising career with strong potential for long-term success in African music.
