Davis D, during an exclusive interview with InyaRwanda, shared how meeting Soso marked a turning point in his search for female talent on his new project. He explained, "I was looking for a girl to feature in the song. Several girls were brought to me, but when I heard how Soso sings, I felt she was the right choice to collaborate with."
The Rwandan star revealed his decision to feature Soso came from recognizing her remarkable talent, despite her being unknown professionally. Davis D noted, "She already had knowledge of music since she often performed at embassies and other events. However, this is her first time appearing in an officially released song."
Highlighting his ongoing efforts to promote new artists, Davis D compared this project to his previous success with Melisaa. Their collaboration on "My Dreams" brought Melisaa considerable appreciation and support. He said, "With Melisaa, it was different because she already had some presence in the music industry. But for Soso, this is her first appearance. It’s something special."
The new song, "Shoke," involved production by Mamba for its audio, while Rwanda’s renowned videographer Bernard Bagenzi directed and edited the visuals. Bagenzi brings unmatched expertise that ensures high-quality video output.
Davis D encouraged his fans to anticipate fresh and exceptional work. He expressed optimism that, although this is Soso's debut on a major release, her raw talent will win over audiences.
The singer also elaborated on his process of discovering Soso during trials to identify the perfect collaborator.
After recent performances in France and Sweden, Davis D connected with DJ Neptune to explore global opportunities.
Reaffirming his commitment, Davis D stated that promoting emerging talent remains one of his priorities. Collaborative initiatives like these serve as platforms for rising artists.
The song "Shoke" and its music video are set to be officially released next week, promising fans a unique blend of artistic brilliance
