The album launch event took place on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Dove Hotel in Kigali, where Mutabazi spoke with the media about his journey and the purpose behind the new album.
Danny Mutabazi explained that “Waranzuye” features seven tracks, all produced in under two months. He named the album after the overarching message within the songs, emphasizing Jesus Christ’s love and sacrifice.
He said: "The main message of this album is the one I love sharing most—the message of the cross and Christ’s love. Five out of the seven songs speak directly about Christ’s love. 'Waranzuye' means that we have died with Christ and will rise with Him, because He saved us through His blood."
Over the years, Mutabazi has released 16 songs, excluding the tracks on this new album, and he values the feedback he receives from fans, many of whom have shared how his music has supported them during difficult times.
Some listeners have written to him saying that his songs helped them abandon suicidal thoughts, while others shared that the songs drew them closer to God.
He added: "I often receive messages like these shortly after releasing a song. This happened with 'Impamba y’urugendo' and 'Ufite uwo mwana.' One person even told me, 'I was saved without a pastor praying for me; your song brought me closer to God.'"
Mutabazi also mentioned that his song “Amarira y’ibyishimo” has impacted many lives, with listeners sharing testimonies of salvation after hearing it.
He shared that his songwriting journey began in 2013, when he felt called to create music with a gospel message. He prays over every song before releasing it, believing that the spiritual preparation enhances the song’s power.
Danny Mutabazi’s first album, “Calvary”, was launched in 2019, also at Dove Hotel in Kigali.
Beyond performing, Mutabazi is recognized for his songwriting skills, having written songs for other gospel artists in Rwanda.
“Waranzuye” follows “Calvary” and marks a milestone in his 11-year journey in gospel music, continuing to produce songs that touch hearts as much as they please the ears.
