In the early hours of Wednesday, July 2, 2025, renowned Rwandan artist Cyusa Ibrahim, alongside Serge Nahimana, the leader of the Inganzo Ngari Cultural Troupe, embarked on a cultural journey to Congo-Brazzaville to commemorate Rwanda’s Liberation Day.
The first group from Inganzo Ngari had earlier departed on Monday night into Tuesday, July 1, traveling directly to Zimbabwe from Kigali International Airport. Their mission is part of Rwanda’s Liberation Day celebrations, showcasing the nation's vibrant culture abroad.
Speaking to InyaRwanda, Serge Nahimana explained that these performances were made possible through sponsorship from Rwanda's embassies in Congo-Brazzaville and Zimbabwe. This support allowed the troupe to divide into teams, each spreading messages of joy, cultural pride, and liberation spirit.
He emphasized, “We planned this event with the same dedication we always bring to our work. We held special rehearsals for dances customized for the occasion. Everywhere we perform, our aim is to spread joy through applause, dance, and rhythm. Liberation Day is a time to celebrate Rwanda’s achievements, and we’re excited to represent our culture to the world.”
Cyusa Ibrahim, a prominent figure in Rwanda’s traditional music scene and famous for his hit song "Migabo,” reflected on his experience collaborating once again with Inganzo Ngari—the troupe that nurtured him as an artist.
He shared, “Inganzo Ngari has always been close to my heart, shaping my early journey in music. Joining such meaningful events feels like reliving a dream. I look forward to sharing my songs, including tracks from my debut album and other favorite hits, with Rwandans in Congo-Brazzaville and their friends.”
The troupe’s performances aim to celebrate Rwanda’s Liberation Day by highlighting the richness of Rwandan culture. Through dance, music, and symbols of unity, they intend to inspire pride and joy both at home and abroad.
The central message of their tour is preserving the values that defined Rwanda’s struggle for liberation, while promoting cultural pride globally.
