Court Orders DNA Test for Child of Ishimwe Vestine and Idrissa Ouedraogo

The Kicukiro Primary Court has ordered a DNA test for the child of Rwandan gospel singer Ishimwe Vestine and her husband, Idrissa Ouedraogo. The court also directed that Idrissa be provided with additional photos of the child, as he had requested.

The ruling was delivered on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at the Kicukiro Primary Court in Kigali, following a case filed by Idrissa Ouedraogo against his wife, Ishimwe Vestine.

In his application, Idrissa requested a DNA test to establish the child's biological parentage and asked the court to order Vestine to allow him to see their child.

During the ruling, the judge stated that Vestine's legal team had agreed to Idrissa's requests, including providing additional photographs of the child and conducting a DNA test in the child's best interests.

The court further heard that Vestine had agreed to have DNA samples collected from the child, identified as Ishimwe Nollah, in Canada, where the child is currently staying. The samples would then be sent to Kigali for comparison with those collected from Idrissa.

The judge explained that, based on Article 48 of the law governing persons and family matters, as well as the agreement reached between the parties, the court found Idrissa's application to be well-founded and affirmed his parental rights concerning the child.

Consequently, the Kicukiro Primary Court ordered that Idrissa receive additional photographs of the child and that the requested DNA test be conducted.

The ruling marks a significant development in the legal proceedings involving Ishimwe Vestine and Idrissa Ouedraogo, with the DNA examination expected to help clarify the child's biological parentage.
