The iconic "Share a Coke" campaign is back with a fresh twist, aiming to help fans of Coca-Cola create lasting memories and connections by sharing personalized bottles with loved ones.
The relaunch event took place on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Century Park in Nyarutarama, Kigali. It was a vibrant gathering, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds for an unforgettable evening.
Attendees included prominent figures in Rwanda’s entertainment world, such as Nishimwe Naomie, Miss Rwanda 2020, and her friends. The evening also featured electrifying performances by singer Alyn Sano, who delighted the audience with her hit songs, including her latest collaboration, "Chop Chop", with Bensoul.
In an age heavily influenced by digital communication, a 2023 Kantar study revealed that 72% of Generation Z prioritizes authenticity and meaningful relationships. Coca-Cola’s "Share a Coke" campaign focuses on fostering genuine connections through personalized Coca-Cola bottles.
To kick off the campaign in Rwanda, Coca-Cola collaborated with Brasseries et Limonaderies du Rwanda (BRALIRWA). The event delighted attendees with unique gifts, including customized Coca-Cola bottles with their names, branded t-shirts, and other memorable keepsakes—all while spreading joy.
Guests shared laughs and connections, enjoying Coca-Cola bottles personalized with their own or their friends’ names. Additional entertainment activities added to the celebratory atmosphere, strengthening the sense of unity among participants.
Lieke Bouwhuis, Marketing Director at BRALIRWA, remarked, "The 'Share a Coke' campaign is all about bringing people together. Whether it’s your name or a friend’s on the bottle, it creates a bond worth celebrating." She added, “This initiative is nationwide, allowing anyone—whether at supermarkets or gathering spots—to experience it. I encourage everyone to participate.”
Bouwhuis expressed sincere gratitude to attendees, partners, Coca-Cola fans, merchants, and the teams at Coca-Cola and BRALIRWA for their efforts. "Let’s keep sharing, celebrating, and connecting through Coca-Cola," she said enthusiastically.
Yayoro Karamoko, Senior Manager for Coca-Cola Africa, celebrated his first visit to Rwanda, coming from Côte d’Ivoire. He applauded Rwanda’s beauty and warm hospitality, describing it as “a fantastic country.”
He emphasized that personalized Coca-Cola bottles signal happiness and unity. "The magic happens when people gather to share Coca-Cola," Karamoko shared. He called the campaign’s Nairobi launch just the beginning, assuring attendees that the initiative would expand nationwide.
Karamoko encouraged everyone to showcase their joyous moments with Coca-Cola by sharing posts on social media using the hashtag #ShareACoke.
Ethel Emma-Uche, BRALIRWA’s Managing Director, shared her excitement about the collaboration with Coca-Cola. “Through ‘Share a Coke,’ we are dedicated to delivering unique and impactful experiences to Rwandans,” she stated.
Charli Azanfack Dongmo, Coca-Cola Marketing Director for West and East Southern Africa, stated, “‘Share a Coke’ is an inspiring reminder in this digital age that the best moments are those spent with loved ones, laughing, talking, and creating lifelong memories.”
Coca-Cola enthusiasts can participate in the campaign by uploading their photos with Coca-Cola bottles on Instagram and Facebook using #ShareACoke. By doing so, they stand a chance to win exciting prizes.
Personalized Coca-Cola bottles are widely available in Rwanda’s stores, restaurants, and other gathering spots, reinforcing themes of joy and connection.
