Bushali revealed the news during an interview with InyaRwanda shortly after delivering an energetic performance at the MTN Iwacu Muzika Festival 2026 held in Karongi District on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
Despite a light drizzle in Rubengera, Hip Hop lovers—especially Kinyatrap fans—turned up in large numbers and gave Bushali a warm reception as one of the festival's most anticipated performers.
Taking to the stage alongside Kankadem, Bushali thrilled the crowd with some of his biggest hits, including Kamwe, Meterese, Umwirabura, Kinyatrap, and Ku Gasima, with fans singing along throughout the performance.
Kankadem also proved why he is regarded as one of Rwanda's fastest-rising young rappers. After supporting Bushali's set, he performed his own song, Buguma, which was enthusiastically received by the audience.
However, it wasn't just Bushali's performance that caught people's attention. He wore a jersey with the words "Kinyatrap" and "Kontineri" printed on the back, leaving many fans curious about their meaning.
Explaining the message behind the shirt, Bushali said it represented the two biggest pillars of his music journey: the Kinyatrap movement that he has spent years building and his newly established music studio.
"Kinyatrap is the style that defines my musical journey, while Kontineri is my music studio. Yes, I have officially launched my own studio," Bushali told InyaRwanda.
His announcement signals that the rapper is no longer focusing solely on performing but is also investing in music production. The new studio is expected to support both his own projects and those of other artists seeking professional recording services.
Over the years, Bushali has established himself as one of the leading figures behind the growth and popularization of Kinyatrap, a uniquely Rwandan Hip Hop subgenre that has attracted a growing youth audience both within Rwanda and beyond.
The launch of Kontineri marks another significant milestone in his career, demonstrating his ambition to contribute to Rwanda's music industry not only as an artist but also as a producer and entrepreneur committed to nurturing quality music.
At the MTN Iwacu Muzika Festival in Karongi, Bushali once again shared the stage with Kankadem, a young rapper he recently welcomed into the Kinyatrap family.
Their chemistry on stage reflected Bushali's commitment to mentoring emerging talent while building a legacy that extends far beyond his own music.
