Bull Dogg, renowned for his chart-toppers ‘Cinema’ and ‘Kaza Roho,’ made a memorable debut at the ongoing MTN Iwacu Muzika Festival 2025. His addition to the lineup came after Kevin Kade withdrew due to commitments with the Rwanda Convention USA 2025.
On Saturday, July 26, Bull Dogg delivered an electrifying show to thousands of fans at Cathédrale Kibungo's Football Ground in Ngoma District. His performance highlighted the energy and essence of Hip Hop, featuring hits like ‘Nk'umusaza’ that thrilled the crowd.
After his set, Bull Dogg spoke to the media about his decision to perform MC Mahoniboni’s songs. He explained, "Every rapper who steps on stage embodies an MC, and it’s common to integrate other artists’ works in rap performances. It’s a tradition in Hip Hop."
He added, "Mahoniboni supported our generation and continues to inspire us despite retiring from music. Honoring him through music is our way of celebrating his contributions to Hip Hop, which we deeply respect."
When questioned about bringing members of Tuff Gang to the festival, Bull Dogg acknowledged challenges. "My contract with MTN Iwacu Muzika Festival was signed as a solo artist. If circumstances align, it could happen eventually, but it’s still under consideration," he revealed.
Looking ahead, Bull Dogg is preparing for his upcoming performance in Huye District during the festival’s next leg. He expressed his special connection to Huye, describing it as "home" compared to other stops on the tour. "It’s my roots, and I anticipate something truly remarkable," he shared.
The MTN Iwacu Muzika Festival 2025 kicked off on July 5 in Musanze District, followed by Gicumbi (July 12) and Nyagatare (July 19). After Ngoma (July 26), it heads to Huye (August 2), Rusizi (August 9), and wraps up in Rubavu on August 16, 2025.
