Bugesera FC Approved for 2025/26 Rwanda Premier League Despite RWF 500K Fine

Bugesera FC secures its spot in the 2025/26 Rwanda Premier League after resolving documentation issues. Fined RWF 500K for registration errors.

Bugesera FC has officially earned clearance to participate in the 2025/26 Rwanda Premier League despite facing setbacks due to incomplete documentation during its initial submission.

Recently, FERWAFA announced its list of teams approved for next season’s Rwanda Premier League, but Bugesera FC—based in Bugesera District—was notably missing. This stemmed from missing critical registration requirements. The club failed to provide essential insurance for its players, documentation for its team doctor, and some registration materials pertained to the 2024/25 season instead of the required 2025/26 season.

After FERWAFA’s initial rejection, Bugesera FC submitted an appeal, which was successfully approved. Consequently, the decision to bar the club from participating in the league was overturned. However, the club was penalized with a fine of RWF 500,000 for errors in the first submission.

Bugesera FC has now been added to the list of teams eligible to compete in the 2025/26 Rwanda Premier League. Nevertheless, other clubs like Amagaju FC, Marines FC, Rutsiro FC, Musanze FC, and Police FC managed to avoid penalties, as their registration was completed without issues.
