Two years ago, renowned Rwandan artist Bruce Melodie expressed his disappointment in the media and on social platforms regarding The Ben’s response to a proposal for a music collaboration. This tension led to a quiet rivalry, reflected in subtle words and actions, but it never became overt.
Over time, this animosity reached a turning point when The Ben issued a heartfelt public apology. Bruce Melodie graciously accepted, declaring he would no longer speak negatively about The Ben, paving the way for reconciliation.
During exclusive interviews with Jado Castar, aired by B&B Agency, the journalist spotlighted the pair as shining beacons in Rwandan music. In an interview with InyaRwanda, Castar shared how he motivated both artists to step into their roles as role models for the music industry.
He said, “When I met them together [Bruce Melodie and The Ben], I emphasized the importance of preparing to be the shining lights of Rwandan music. You both have a strong influence; when either of you speaks, it creates an impact. I urged them to fully embrace their responsibilities as leading examples in the Rwandan music industry because they are pivotal figures.”
Jado Castar's efforts bore fruit, as demonstrated by Bruce Melodie, alongside Coach Gael and others from the 1:55 AM Label, attending The Ben's monumental concert at BK Arena on January 1, 2025.
The journalist also highlighted the importance of role models in collaborative environments. Drawing a comparison to Rwandan football, he noted how prominent teams like APR FC and Rayon Sports play leadership roles during disputes or challenges.
He elaborated, “In situations involving large groups, key figures always emerge as leaders or shining lights. For instance, in Rwandan football, if problems arise and the source isn’t clear, people immediately look to APR FC or Rayon Sports for guidance.”
Jado Castar further stressed the importance of nurturing upcoming talent while providing strong role models who shape the future of the industry.
Jado Castar skillfully utilized his platform to mediate between The Ben and Bruce Melodie, fostering reconciliation.

On May 31, 2024, Bruce Melodie publicly declared an end to his feud with The Ben.
The Ben has consistently expressed admiration for Bruce Melodie’s artistry, reiterating his desire to reignite their planned musical collaborations.
