Musician Bill Ruzima has been transferred to the Huye Isange Rehabilitation Center following his arrest for cannabis possession. He confessed to using drugs since 2022 and is now undergoing treatment. The center is renowned in Rwanda for supporting individuals battling addiction and mental health challenges, including many notable names.
This young artist was arrested on November 15, 2025, charged with possessing and using drugs, specifically marijuana. After several days of detention at the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) station in Kimihurura, Kigali, he was transferred to Huye for rehabilitation.
According to reliable sources, InyaRwanda confirmed that on Wednesday morning, November 19, 2025, Bill Ruzima was moved to the Huye rehabilitation facility for specialized treatment.
How Did the Arrest Happen?
On November 15, 2025, the artist went to a Kimihurura restaurant for a meal. He carried a backpack with various items and was accompanied by acquaintances.
As night approached, he left the restaurant and headed to a nearby nightclub. While at the nightclub, he realized he had left his backpack at the restaurant.
The artist called a friend still at the restaurant, requesting they collect the forgotten backpack and bring it to him later. The friend eventually arrived at the nightclub with the backpack. However, during security checks, marijuana wrapped in packaging was found inside the bag, leading to the friend’s immediate arrest.
The friend stated the bag wasn’t theirs, claiming it belonged to Bill Ruzima, who was present in the nightclub. Security brought the handcuffed friend to identify him. After confirmation, authorities shifted focus to Bill Ruzima, placing him under arrest.
At the investigation office, Bill Ruzima admitted to using marijuana and other substances since 2022.
