Known for his strong songwriting skills, Bigizi Gentil has gained recognition through songs such as “Imvugo Yiwe,” “Yesu Arabaruta,” “Ntacyo Mfite,” “Kipenzi,” “Biragatsindwa,” and “Tujyane,” among others.
After releasing the song “Ifaranga,” which addressed the growing obsession with money and how some people value it more than God, he has now returned with a new track titled “Gutinda kwa Yesu” (Jesus’ Delay).
This new song is meant to comfort those who are waiting for God’s promises to be fulfilled, reminding them that even if Jesus may seem late in human understanding, He is never late in fulfilling what He has promised.
In the song, Bigizi draws inspiration from the story of Jesus Christ visiting Bethany after the death of Lazarus. When Jesus arrived, people were mourning, and Lazarus’ sisters expressed their disappointment, saying that had He come earlier, their brother would not have died.
However, Jesus raised Lazarus after four days in the tomb, turning sorrow into joy. From this, Bigizi sings: “Jesus’ delay does not prevent Him from solving long-standing problems.” He adds, “Do not be discouraged, your answer will come at the right time; just wait, Jesus is still on the way.”
In an interview with inyaRwanda, Bigizi Gentil shared that the inspiration behind the song came from real-life experiences, where many people grow weary after waiting a long time for God’s promises.
He said: “You hear people saying, ‘God spoke to me five years ago, three years ago, even ten years ago,’ and you can sense they are losing hope.”
He emphasized that his message is to encourage perseverance, noting that when God speaks, He fulfills His word—even if it takes many years. “When it is God who has spoken, not humans—because people can speak without God speaking—but when God has spoken, He always fulfills it,” he explained.
The seasoned worship minister also testified that he has personally witnessed God’s faithfulness in his own life, saying, “I am a witness; I have seen it.”
Regarding his future plans, Bigizi, also known as Kipenzi, revealed that he has many songs lined up, which he will gradually release on YouTube. He also hinted at organizing a concert, although he did not disclose when it will take place.
“I have many songs that I will be releasing on YouTube, and I’m also planning a concert, but not anytime soon. I first want to fully return to music after a period of silence. Once the songs gain recognition, I will consider the next steps,” he said.
Bigizi Gentil’s return signals a renewed mission to inspire and uplift listeners, reminding them that God never forgets His promises—no matter how long they take to be fulfilled.
