Ayabonga shared a heartfelt apology on his WhatsApp status, featuring photos of players such as Iraguha Hadji and Bugingo Hakim, who transitioned from Rayon Sports to APR FC.
Through his message, Ayabonga expressed deep regret for dismissing the concerns shared by team officials regarding the detrimental influence of some players on the team's success.
He stated, “I apologize, I never thought things were actually as you said. I told you it was normal, but you were right. I regret it, please forgive me.”
These words were accompanied by a photo of Iraguha Hadji, a player who had played for Rayon Sports but failed to deliver commendable performances in critical matches during the league's final stages.
In another status update, Ayabonga reflected on Bugingo Hakim's situation, revealing how he repeatedly ignored management's warnings about unusual behavior among certain players, perceiving their concerns as unfounded.
He continued, “I told you they were falsely accused, brushing it off as normal. But now, I realize you were telling me the truth. If I were to go back, I would act differently.”
Apart from Bugingo Hakim and Iraguha Hadji, Omborenga Fitina, another player accused of inappropriate conduct, is reportedly signed by APR FC, although official confirmation is pending.
These allegations of player misconduct caused Rayon Sports to suffer a crucial defeat in the Peace Cup final and lose the league's top position, ultimately costing them the championship title.
Ayabonga openly admitted his remorse for choosing to ignore valid concerns about certain players compromising the team’s morale and performance.
