Kayitesi will attend the prestigious literary event scheduled
for November 6, 2026, at Kigali Serena Hotel, where she will join fellow
writers and literary enthusiasts in celebrating Rwandan talent and recognising
outstanding contributions to literature.
Her return comes after an impressive milestone in 2025, when
she received the Outstanding Female Writer Award in recognition of her
contribution to writing and the promotion of literature. This year, however,
she will attend as a guest rather than a nominee, looking forward to
celebrating the achievements of other writers.
Speaking ahead of the ceremony, Kayitesi expressed her
excitement about returning to the event, particularly her anticipation of
discovering this year's award recipients.
“Receiving the Outstanding Female Writer Award last year was
a great honour. I am happy to return to Radiate Rwanda, not as a competitor
this year, but to celebrate the achievements of other writers.
“I am especially looking forward to discovering who will
receive this year’s awards. I know how meaningful this recognition can be, and
I wish all the nominees the very best,” she said.
Unity Quest: Using Literature to Promote Unity and
Reconciliation
Beyond her recognition at the 2025 awards, Kayitesi
continues to use literature as a platform to promote unity, reconciliation,
historical awareness and peaceful coexistence.
One of her notable works is ‘Unity Quest’, a book that
received approval from Rwanda’s Ministry of National Unity and Civic Engagement
(MINUBUMWE) in January 2025.
The publication explores themes of unity and reconciliation
while encouraging readers to reflect on history and the importance of building
peaceful relationships across generations and cultures.
Recognising the importance of reaching a wider audience,
Kayitesi has made the book available in three languages: Kinyarwanda, under the
title ‘Guharanira Ubumwe’; English, as ‘Unity Quest’; and German, as ‘Die Suche
nach Einheit’.
The author confirmed that the book remains available to
interested readers, who can contact her directly to obtain a copy.
“I believe stories have the power to bring people together,
especially across generations and cultures,” she added.
Turning Personal Experiences into Stories of Hope
As an author, educator and survivor of the 1994 Genocide
against the Tutsi, Kayitesi continues to use her writing to encourage
understanding, resilience and hope.
Her literary work reflects a commitment to using
storytelling as a means of preserving important conversations, promoting social
understanding and inspiring future generations.
Through Inzozi Publisher, based in Germany, she remains
dedicated to bringing Rwandan stories to international audiences while creating
opportunities for literature to connect people across different backgrounds.
Her participation in the 2026 Radiate Rwanda Literary
Excellence Awards also reflects her continued support for fellow writers and
the growth of Rwanda's literary industry.
Having experienced the honour of receiving one of the awards
herself, Kayitesi now returns to celebrate other writers whose creativity and
dedication are contributing to the country's literary landscape.

Through her publishing house, Inzozi Publisher, she remains committed to taking Rwandan stories to readers around the world
