Eric Twishime releases the song as he continues his ministry in Brisbane, Australia, where he is based. He is also among the worship ministers expected to take part in the second edition of the international gathering, Australia Arise & Shine Multicultural Revival Global Network.
This is Eric Twishime’s third release, following “Ndi Imana Yawe” (Live Recording), which he recorded in Kigali, Rwanda, in March 2026.
The inspiration behind “Abategereje Uwiteka” came from reading and reflecting on the Word of God. Eric Twishime wrote the song after being deeply moved by the message in Isaiah 40:31. He felt inspired to share this powerful message with many people through the gift of singing that God had given him.
This Scripture forms the foundation of the song, which seeks to strengthen the hearts of believers and remind them of God's promise to renew their strength.
Eric Twishime further explains that he felt compelled to remind believers that the challenges they face should not trouble their hearts or lead them away from their faith. Instead, those going through difficult times should ask God for renewed strength and continue their journey of faith without giving up.
As he continued reading and reflecting on the Scripture, he was also reminded of the danger faced by those who have not yet received Christ, whom he describes as being under the oppression of Satan. He says he is calling on them to break free from that bondage and receive God's renewed strength.
Isaiah 40:31 says: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Through this Scripture, Eric wishes to remind people that waiting upon God is not a waste of time. Rather, it means continuing to trust and believe in Him, even when the answers to their prayers have not yet come.
Eric Twishime hopes that “Abategereje Uwiteka” will become a source of comfort and strength for those who feel discouraged, those going through difficult times, and everyone in need of renewed hope.
His goal is to use the gift God has given him to spread the Gospel, help people draw closer to God, and encourage them to put Him first in their lives.
