On Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM, APR FC will play their second match in the CECAFA Kagame Cup 2025 hosted in Tanzania. The Rwandan team will go head-to-head with Mlandege from Zanzibar after kicking off their campaign with a convincing 2-0 victory against Bumamuru FC from Burundi.
Following their pre-match training session on Friday, APR FC captain Ruboneka Jean Bosco expressed his unwavering confidence in the current squad. He emphasized the team's marked improvements compared to last year when they lost to Mlandege. Ruboneka stated: "The team we had last year is not the same team we have now, which is why we’ll play well and win. Tomorrow, we will deliver, and everyone will see it."
Ruboneka reaffirmed their ultimate goal of winning the CECAFA Kagame Cup 2025 and bringing the trophy to Rwanda. He declared: "Our goal is to bring home the CECAFA trophy. That’s our mission. We have to work together as players, coaches, and management to achieve this objective."
While acknowledging that all teams came prepared for the tournament, Ruboneka stressed APR FC's commitment and superior aspirations: "Every team came here prepared, but we have goals that surpass those of others. To win the trophy, we will do whatever it takes."
APR FC currently dominates Group B with three points and a strong two-goal advantage. Their closest competitor, KMC, also holds three points but only boasts a one-goal advantage.
APR FC conducted their final training session to polish their strategies against Mlandege.
