APR FC players, who are not currently involved with national teams, have resumed intensive training after their elimination from the CAF Champions League. They aim to come back stronger in the Rwandan Premier League.
On social media, APR FC shared images of training sessions, highlighting surprising changes in player appearance. Some team members, including Niyigena Clement, Memel Dao, and William Togui, were seen with shaved heads after sporting dreadlocks in the past.
According to reports, this transformation was prompted by a directive from APR FC management, which banned dreadlocks among players. The team emphasized that no player would be allowed to maintain this hairstyle moving forward. This policy was implemented not long after disciplinary action was taken against Mamadou Sy and Dauda Yussif for misconduct that led to their suspension for about a month.
The team is scheduled to return to competition on Sunday at 6:30 PM at Kigali Pele Stadium for their fourth match in the 2025/2026 Rwandan Premier League season. Currently, APR FC holds the 11th position with 3 points but has two matches in hand, providing an opportunity to climb the rankings.
