APR FC has taken disciplinary action against players Sy Mamadou and Dauda Yussif with a 30-day suspension due to misconduct leading up to their CAF Champions League clash with Pyramids FC in Cairo, Egypt. The Rwandan football club stressed its unwavering commitment to professionalism and team discipline.

The club announced the decision on Friday, October 10, 2025, via their official social media channels.

In their detailed statement, APR FC declared, "The management of APR Football Club wishes to provide clarification to all concerned, especially our loyal fans and supporters, regarding the issue of inappropriate behavior that occurred in Cairo, Egypt, during the CAF Champions League match between APR FC and Pyramids FC."

The statement revealed that during pre-game preparations, Sy Mamadou and Dauda Yussif intentionally defied the rules and instructions set by the Head Coach and team management. The club emphasized that this unprofessionalism not only disrupted the team's unity but also negatively affected their performance on the field.

APR FC elaborated in their statement: "After internal discussions within the team and in adherence to the disciplinary rules governing the club, as well as the players' contracts, the Management has decided to suspend both players for a period of thirty (30) days. This suspension will provide an opportunity to conduct an independent and thorough investigation before further decisions are made."

Reiterating its core values, APR FC emphasized that professionalism, respect, and good conduct are at the forefront of the club's identity. "No one is above the core values of APR FC, and all players are expected to uphold the principles of loyalty, teamwork, and discipline that define the club," the statement read.

The decision follows reports of misconduct, where during the preparation for the return leg of the preliminary CAF Champions League round against Pyramids FC, Sy Mamadou and Dauda Yussif Seidu reportedly left their team hotel without permission, being escorted away in an unidentified vehicle.
