On Friday afternoon, APR FC, Rwanda’s leading army club, conducted their first intensive training session at Kigali Pele Stadium ahead of their highly anticipated match against Egypt's Pyramids FC. The training began at 2 PM, the same time the game is set to start on Wednesday.
All players attended the session except Ouatarra Djibril, who has been sidelined due to a prolonged illness. As confirmed by Coach Abderrahim Taleb, Djibril will miss both matches entirely, posing a challenge for the squad.
Fortunately, other key players, including Ruboneka Bosco and Fitina, who were unavailable for the previous match against Gicumbi, have made full recoveries and are now fit to contribute to Wednesday's showdown.
Coach Abderrahim Taleb, while evaluating the rival team, expressed familiarity with Pyramids FC. He remarked: “It’s a team I know well. They include Moroccan players, some of whom I have trained in the past. They are proven competitors with significant tournament experience and recently claimed the FIFA Africa-Asian-Pacific Cup title.”
Taleb also highlighted his confidence in APR FC's readiness: “Our team is fully prepared for this crucial encounter. Despite the absence of Ouatarra Djibril, other players are motivated to shine on Wednesday. If we adhere to the strategies we've practiced during training, victory is within our reach.”
