APR BBC Secures Crucial Win Over REG BBC in Intense Playoff Battle

APR BBC defeated REG BBC 91-86 in a thrilling basketball showdown at BK Arena. Game 2 of the playoff finals is set for Friday, July 4, 2025.

The electrifying playoff clash between APR BBC and REG BBC took place on Wednesday at 7 PM, inside the iconic BK Arena. APR BBC launched the match on a high note, drawing first blood with a remarkable three-pointer from Cleveland Thomas Jr.

Both teams displayed fierce competitiveness throughout the game, with scores remaining close. However, APR BBC, powered by standout performances from Youssoupha Ndoye, finished the first quarter leading 35-27 over REG BBC.

The momentum continued in the second quarter as APR BBC, representing the national army, widened the gap, at one point achieving a 13-point lead. REG BBC rallied back with an impressive push from Jean de Dieu Umuhoza, narrowing the scoring gap and outperforming APR BBC in points during the quarter. Still, APR BBC held on with a 53-47 advantage.

In the third quarter, APR BBC’s dominance surged, with star players Youssoupha Ndoye and Ntore Habimana leading the charge. Their teamwork helped extend the lead to a commanding 79-63.

The fourth and final quarter offered the most suspenseful moments of the game. REG BBC fought valiantly to close the gap, and thanks to the exceptional effort of Vandriesshe Pierre Thierry, managed to briefly overtake APR BBC with a one-point lead. Yet, in the dying minutes, APR BBC regrouped to reclaim their lead, ultimately sealing the victory with a final score of 91-86.
