This was a high-stakes matchup as APR BBC, representing Rwanda Defense Forces, needed a victory to secure the coveted championship trophy.
In the first quarter, APR BBC showcased strong gameplay led by the formidable Youssoupha Ndoye, closing the quarter ahead with a scoreline of 17-15.
By the second quarter, REG BBC regained momentum with powerful contributions from players such as Muhizi Prince. The first half concluded in a dramatic tie, with both teams locked at 35-35.
In the crucial third quarter, APR BBC ascended again, edging out REG BBC with solid teamwork to end the quarter ahead at 56-54.
The final quarter saw APR BBC maintain their dominance and seal the match with an impressive 81-72 victory over REG BBC. This triumph marked their fourth win in the finals series and secured the 2025 championship trophy.
With this remarkable achievement, APR BBC celebrated their 16th championship in the team's history, cementing their legacy in Rwandan basketball. It also marked their third consecutive championship win, confirming them as Rwanda’s representatives in next year’s Basketball Africa League (BAL).
In addition to the team’s victory, individual honors went to James Mayer, the APR BBC coach, who was named Coach of the Year. Youssou Ndoye, a standout performer in the finals, was awarded the MVP title for his outstanding contributions on the court.
