Munyana, Media and Communications Officer for the Ambassadors of Christ Choir, offers a compelling account of the choir's humble beginnings. “I vividly remember we were no more than 20 people. We merged two choirs into one, and that’s how 'Ambassadors of Christ Choir' was born,” she shared with InyaRwanda.
The choir started with one clear mission: to glorify God with heartfelt gospel music. Over the years, their impact has exceeded expectations, growing in size and scriptural influence. “New members didn’t leave; they joined and stayed. This strengthened our foundation,” Munyana added.
What started as a local community project has transformed into a globally recognized gospel powerhouse. Over 30 years, the Ambassadors of Christ Choir have achieved incredible milestones: composing soul-stirring songs, performing internationally to diverse audiences, and leading charity missions with a broader impact.
One of the choir’s most cherished accomplishments is changing lives through gospel music. “These 30 years have seen countless activities, but the most rewarding is hearing testimonies that our music touched lives, whether shared on social media or during tours,” Munyana said.
Today, from fewer than 30 members at inception, the choir has a massive following worldwide, symbolizing the transformative power of God’s grace through music.
“When people listen to our music, repent, and give their lives to God—it means more to us than anything,” Munyana proudly shared.
To secure gospel music's legacy, the Ambassadors of Christ Choir founded a children’s choir 14 years ago. This initiative instills a deep sense of purpose in younger generations, ensuring the message and ministry persist.
“God inspired us to start the children’s choir as a continuation of His work. Today, children grow into the ministry, transitioning into the main choir as spiritually mature leaders,” Munyana explained.
This mentorship approach blends spiritual growth with artistic cultivation, creating a strong pipeline for the ministry's future.
Reflecting on three decades of service, Munyana highlighted efforts such as assisting the needy, visiting prisoners, supporting church construction, and offering charity throughout their ministry journey.
