The list was released on Monday during a press briefing by the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) and Amavubi’s new head coach, Stephen Constantine.
Eric Nshimiyimana, one of Amavubi’s assistant coaches, explained that FIFA had initially requested a 55-man preliminary list to select 26 players. However, the Rwandan team decided to narrow it down to 31 players from which the final 26 will be chosen for the tournament.
The 31 players called up include:
Goalkeepers: Ntwari Fiacre, Niyongira Patience, Bigirimana Hugo, and Hakizimana Adolphe.
Defenders: Mutsinzi Ange, Manzi Thierry, Kavita Phanuel, Nshimiyimana Yunusu, Imanishimwe Emmanuel, Niyomugabo Claude, Byiringiro Jean Gilbert, and Uwumukiza Obed.
Midfielders: Mugisha Bonheur, Bizimana Djihad, Samuel Gueulette, Muhire Kevin, Kalisa Sven, Ruboneka Jean Bosco, Mugisha Gilbert, Hakim Sahabo, and Uwineza Rene.
Forwards: Mickels Joy, Ndayishimiye Karl Matteo, Nshuti Innocent, Mickels Joy Lance, Biramahire Abeddy, Byiringiro Lague, Kwizera Jojea, Mickels Leroy Jacques, Kury Johan Marvin, Niyo David, and Mugisha Gilbert.
Among the new call-ups are Bigirimana Hugo, who plays for La Chaux-De-Fonds in Switzerland, and Kalisa Sven, who plays for FC Etzella Ettelbruck in Luxembourg. The squad also includes Mickels Joy Lance, Mickels Leroy Jacques, and Mickels Joy, three siblings all playing in Azerbaijan.
Amavubi will face Kenya, Estonia, and Grenada in the FIFA Series, with matches set to kick off on March 27, 2026, at Stade Amahoro.
