Several regular members of the national team were left out of the squad due to injuries, including Thierry Manzi, Joy Lance Mickels, and Leroy Jacques Mickels. Meanwhile, Hakim Sahabo was not selected as he has not been getting enough playing time at his club.
One of the biggest talking points is the inclusion of Noam Emeran Fritz, who has received his maiden call-up to the Rwanda national team. The talented winger currently plays for Dutch second-division side FC Emmen on loan from FC Groningen, which competes in the Dutch top flight.
Emeran previously spent four years in the youth ranks of Manchester United, where he played between 2019 and 2023before moving to the Netherlands to continue his professional career.
Another player earning his first call-up is Uwiyaremye Fidali of Kiyovu Sports. The striker has been one of the standout performers in the Rwanda Premier League this season and has already scored 11 goals, making him one of the league’s top scorers.
The upcoming friendlies against Comoros and Tanzania will provide Coach Constantine with an opportunity to assess his squad and integrate new talent as Rwanda continues its preparations for the crucial AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign.
