The name "Amashami" was inspired by the biblical verse in John 15:5, "I am the vine; you are the branches." The group’s mission focuses on glorifying God and reinforcing Christians' faith by delivering songs that seamlessly combine scripture and the rich essence of Rwandan culture.
Their ministry operates from Rubavu District in Rugerero Sector, Gisa Cell, Shwemu Village, though group members originate from different districts, including Rusizi and Ruhango.
Amashami Group, still in its formative stage, comprises talented singers with backgrounds in various choirs. The members are Nishimwe Emmanuel, Uwintatse Alexiane (group leader), Dukuzeyezu Diane, and Mvuyekure Eugene.
In an interview with InyaRwanda, they shared their distinct approach: "We are introducing Gospel music filled with profound biblical messages, presented through an array of authentic genres like traditional Rwandan music (gakondo), acapella, and a fusion of Gospel with contemporary styles."
"Our uniqueness comes from crafting songs based on meaningful themes—love, forgiveness, faith, comfort—and ensuring the lyrics reflect deeply impactful messages. We don't collaborate merely as artists but also partner in prayer, creating spiritually enriched music that emanates from a heart connected to God."
Amashami Group is soon releasing their debut track titled "Ingoro Ijabiro." The song offers comfort and hope, directing weary and burdened souls toward Jesus, the ultimate source of peace.
Their vision is to become a beacon of truth and comfort in Gospel music, reaching audiences both within Rwanda and internationally.
They are dedicated to inspiring the youth to utilize their talents for God’s service, guiding people back to the ultimate truth found in God’s Word, and fostering a culture of worship through varied, uplifting musical styles.
They passionately state, "Our goal is for the messages we deliver through music to ignite positive change in people’s lives."
Amashami Group has also identified challenges hindering Gospel music progress, such as limited financial and promotional resources, lack of collaboration among artists—where competition sometimes overshadows teamwork—and insufficient knowledge of media and technology, restricting Gospel music’s global reach. Excessive commercialization of music also poses risks, occasionally diluting its spiritual message for monetary gain.
Despite these obstacles, the group is unwavering in their journey. Their hope is anchored in God’s Word, the cornerstone of their lives and ministry. The promise of Jesus Christ motivates them to overcome hurdles while fostering mutual support within the group. Each member plays a key role, making their musical mission one of faith-driven collaboration and prayer.

Amashami Group has emerged as a fresh collective of Gospel artists committed to spreading hope and faith through music.

They are preparing to unveil their first song, "Ingoro Ijabiro," which promises inspiration and spiritual upliftment.
