Rwandan singer Alyn Sano partners with Kenyan music icon Bensoul for a vibrant song recorded in Kenya. Slated to debut in July 2025, the track blends the duo's stunning musical styles and strengthens Alyn's international presence.

In an exclusive conversation with InyaRwanda, Rwandan artist Alyn Sano shared insights about her exceptional music collaboration with Kenyan multi-instrumentalist Bensoul. The song, recorded entirely in Kenya, reflects a seamless mix of styles and talents. Key production aspects like audio and video were expertly managed by Producer David, widely recognized as Producer Run.

Alyn revealed her admiration for Bensoul as one of the main driving forces behind this partnership. She stated, "First and foremost, I’m a big fan of his. He is one of my favorite artists from Kenya. He’s extraordinarily talented, has an unwavering fanbase, and, just like him, I too have fans who are loyal. It's truly a perfect match."

Alyn Sano, celebrated for her hits "Fake Gee," "Say Less," and "Tamu Samu," added that the duo’s music video is currently in production and is set for its global unveiling in July 2025.

The Evolution of Bensoul: Benson Mutua, famously known as Bensoul, has captivated fans with his skills as a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. His rise in the Kenyan music scene has been nothing short of inspiring.

Born on March 4, 1996, in a challenging environment in Embu City's Dallas slum, Bensoul found early inspiration from his father, a vocalist and skilled guitarist, who nurtured his musical aspirations.

Although initially studying architecture at the Technical University of Kenya, Bensoul chose to abandon his studies in his third year to chase his music dreams full-time. This decision paved the way for his extraordinary career.

Bensoul achieved mainstream recognition in 2019, becoming the first artist signed to Sol Generation Records, a music label founded by the renowned group Sauti Sol. That same year, he released his debut single "Lucy," a unique mix of rock and dancehall styles enriched with Kiswahili, English, and Sheng, Kenya’s youth slang.

In 2019, he also launched the soulful track "Favorite." His career continued gaining momentum in 2020 with an EP release titled "Qwarantunes," which featured standout tracks such as "Forget You," "No Kisses," "Salama," and "Peddi."

Collaborations further expanded his reach, such as his 2021 hit song "Nairobi" alongside Mejja and Nviiri The Storyteller. The song delved into the complexities of love and shared relationships in Nairobi's vibrant cultural scene.

Highlighting Kenya’s rich musical traditions, Bensoul’s EP "Medicine" introduced tracks like "Medicine," "Stereo," "Ntala Nawe," and "Sugar Rush," seamlessly blending soulful melodies with local influences.

His debut album, "Lion of Sudah," dropped in 2023, marking the end of his five-year tenure with Sol Generation Records. Released in April of that year, the album explored socially relevant themes supporting the legalization of marijuana in Kenya. Tracks such as "Karibuni Kwa Mida ya 420," "Legalisation," and "Navutishwa" resonated deeply with fans.

Post-"Lion of Sudah," Bensoul founded his own label, aptly named Lion of Sudah, symbolizing his independence and artistic evolution.

Continuing his upward trajectory, Bensoul launched "The Party & The After Party" in 2024, an album featuring hits like "Extra Pressure," produced in collaboration with Bien of Sauti Sol. This release cemented his reputation as a self-sufficient and highly influential musician.

The upcoming collaboration between Alyn Sano and Bensoul promises to deliver an electrifying experience combining two powerhouse talents with diverse yet extraordinary musical approaches.

Alyn Sano expressed her excitement about working with global artists, emphasizing how such partnerships are vital in amplifying her international footprint in the music world.
