Fresh from winning the Best New Gospel Artist in Africa award at the Shining Star Africa Awards 2026, Alicia & Germaine are currently among the most talked-about Gospel artists in Rwanda and across the region. They are also the first guest artists officially announced by Ben and Chance for this major Easter celebration.
Following their recent win, the duo expressed deep gratitude to God and everyone who has supported their journey. Alicia shared that receiving the award was a moment of thanksgiving, emphasizing appreciation for their team and supporters. Germaine added that the recognition is a great blessing and a reminder that their success comes from God, not their own strength.
In addition to this milestone, the duo has also been nominated in the Top African Gospel Group/Duo category at the Africa Golden Awards 2026. They are competing alongside top Gospel groups across the continent, including Joyous Celebration, Midnight Crew, Team Eternity, and many others from countries such as Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, and South Africa.
According to the organizers, winners in each category will receive $5,000 (over 7 million Rwandan Francs), while the overall winner will take home $50,000 (over 72 million Rwandan Francs). Voting began on March 20, 2026, via the official website.
Meanwhile, all eyes are now on the upcoming “Easter Jubilee” concert. Alicia & Germaine are expected to deliver a powerful performance alongside Ben and Chance, who are widely known for hit songs like “Zaburi Yanjye” and “Yesu Arakora.” The married duo has spent over a decade in Gospel music and continues to impact audiences both in Rwanda and internationally.
This will mark their first-ever concert at BK Arena, and they have announced plans to make it an annual Easter event. Branded as the “Easter Jubilee Music Gathering,” the concert is envisioned as a special moment to celebrate Easter through worship, praise, and joyful music.
Tickets are already available, with early buyers benefiting from discounted prices. Different categories include Upper Room, Stage View, Premium, Altar Zone, CIP Zone, and Executive Zone, offering a range of experiences for attendees.
With thousands of Gospel music lovers expected to gather, the event promises to be a powerful and unforgettable celebration of faith, music, and unity at one of Rwanda’s most iconic venues, BK Arena.
