This legendary gospel singer, praised for hit songs such as “Muririmbire Uwiteka,” will take center stage for the first time at Gen-Z Comedy Night on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (Camp Kigali).
Aime Uwimana’s debut appearance at this popular event uniquely blending comedy and music will offer a platform for him to inspire the youth through heartfelt talks and his signature gospel melodies.
Prosper Nkomezi—a gospel artist prepping his fourth album—was previously invited to Gen-Z Comedy Night, showing the event’s growing engagement with gospel musicians who spread spirituality through song.
Speaking with InyaRwanda, event organizer Fally Merci shared his enthusiasm, stating that Aime Uwimana’s songs and powerful messages resonate deeply with young audiences.
“Aime Uwimana will not only sing but also deliver motivational talks to empower the youth. Through Gen-Z Comedy Night, we aim to combine laughter and music while sharing uplifting words that enhance daily life,” Merci said.
The lineup for the night includes Rwanda’s finest comedians, like Muhinde, Pilate, Kandi, Musa, Joshua, Isacal, Clement Inkirigito, and more, ensuring an engaging and entertaining experience for attendees.
Over the years, Gen-Z Comedy Night has earned its reputation as one of Rwanda’s top events—blending comedy, live music, and motivational talks tailored to entertainment lovers and young audiences seeking meaningful engagement.
Aime Uwimana is a household name in Rwanda’s gospel music scene, with a career spanning 30 years. He started out performing with choirs in 1995 before transitioning to a solo music career, making him one of the industry’s most respected gospel figures.
His timeless songs, including “Muririmbire Uwiteka,” “Iminsi Yose,” “Inkovu z’Urukundo,” “Tu es Mon Refuge,” and “Thank,” have brought comfort to Christians and youth alike. Notably, his recent collaboration with Bosco Nshuti titled "Ndashima" has further solidified his influence in gospel music.
Beyond singing, Uwimana is admired for mentoring emerging gospel artists. This contribution to nurturing the next generation has earned him the nickname 'Bishop of Artists,' a testament to his role as an inspirational leader in the gospel scene.
