The song was released on Friday, February 20, 2026, marking a fresh chapter in Kitoko’s musical journey, particularly after spending many years in the United Kingdom focusing on his music career there.
In an interview with InyaRwanda, Kitoko revealed that “Eva” is the first song he has recorded in Rwanda since 2017. He said: "This is the first song I’ve made in Rwanda after nine years, as the last time I produced a song here was in 2017."
These words highlight that returning to produce music in his home country is a significant milestone in his career and personal life.
Kitoko explained that working on music in Rwanda feels very different from his experience in the UK. He noted that many aspects of music production have become easier and more accessible, making it simpler for artists to get what they need to create their work.
"It makes me happy because everything I need to make a song is now close and available," he said.
His remarks reflect the rapid development of Rwanda’s music industry, where artists now have access to high-quality studios, producers, and equipment without having to leave the country.
The audio production of “Eva” was handled by Producer Loader at 1:55 AM Studio. The music video was filmed and directed by Fayzo Pro, with audio mixing and mastering by Bob Pro, and video post-production by Sanib.
Kitoko expressed that collaborating with various Rwandan professionals was exciting, as it showed him that the local music industry has reached a new level of professionalism.
“Eva” is more than just a song—it symbolizes a new chapter for the artist returning to where he began, while also marking a significant step forward for Rwandan music.
Fans are eagerly anticipating whether this release will be followed by more projects produced in Rwanda, further strengthening Kitoko’s connection to his home audience and market.
