Afhamia Lotfi takes Rayon Sports to FIFA despite claims of mutual agreement

Tunisian coach Afhamia Lotfi has filed a case against Rayon Sports at FIFA, despite the club previously stating that both parties had reached an amicable agreement following their separation.

At the start of the 2025/2026 season, Rayon Sports appointed Afhamia Lotfi as head coach after recruiting him from Mukura VS. However, his tenure was short-lived, as he parted ways with the club after just three months, in November.

Shortly after his departure, the club’s leadership changed, with a new administration led by Murenzi Abdallah taking over.

The new management had previously been questioned about Lotfi’s situation, amid reports that he could take legal action due to an alleged unlawful termination. However, they maintained that the issue had been resolved amicably through discussions.

Speaking to Radio & TV 10, Afhamia Lotfi confirmed that he has officially filed a complaint with FIFA through his lawyer.

“Yes, I filed the case through my lawyer. But if Rayon Sports is suspended, it could be due to multiple cases, not just mine. I don’t know exactly what my lawyer included because I gave him all the necessary details,” he said.

The coach explained that there had been an agreement with the club to pay him in installments, but the payments were never made.

“I have not been paid by Rayon Sports. We had an amicable agreement that they would pay me in installments in December and January, but to this day, I have not received anything from the club. It’s disappointing, and I don’t know what to do because there are many cases,” he added.

This development raises fresh concerns over financial and contractual disputes involving Rayon Sports, especially as multiple complaints could potentially expose the club to sanctions from FIFA.
