Action College Expands Vocational Training: Construction & Welding Highlig

Action College introduces new vocational courses in construction and welding to meet Rwanda’s workforce needs. Students enrolling by December 2025 can access a 30% fee discount.

The Head of Partnerships at Action College, Steven Rwabuhihi, informed InyaRwanda that, over its 11-year history, the institution has consistently advanced its programs based on market demands and student feedback.

"Among the new vocational courses we have introduced is construction. Rwanda’s rapid development has driven a consistent need for construction professionals. Following numerous requests from the public, we started this program in October, with classes now underway. We are welcoming enrollments through November," said Rwabuhihi.

He further added, "We’ve also launched a welding program, complimenting the construction course. Through it, students acquire key skills and receive certifications, enabling them to work locally and internationally in the welding field."

Rwabuhihi highlighted that creating these programs involved meticulous planning, employing experienced instructors, securing cutting-edge equipment, and meeting all regulatory requirements to ensure students obtain practical and impactful knowledge.

Students can finish their vocational coursework within six months to a year, completing their training with certifications that officially validate their expertise.

Apart from the theoretical and practical lessons, internships are available. Currently, Action College offers a 30% discount on fees for the newly launched programs, with this special offer running until December 2025. For older courses, discount promotions end by October 2023.

"We decided to offer a considerable 30% discount for new course enrollees as part of promoting these skills. While the fee reduction for our existing courses ends in October, we’re extending this benefit for the construction and welding courses until December 2025," confirmed Rwabuhihi.
