Rwandan football star Abeddy Biramahire has officially joined Algerian club ES Setif on a two-year contract worth $50,000. Last week, Biramahire traveled to Algeria for his medical examination, and the club confirmed his signing yesterday via their official social media channels, warmly welcoming him to the squad.
ES Setif is managed by Antoine Hey, the former coach of Rwanda’s national team Amavubi, adding further interest to this transfer. Founded in 1958, the club plays its matches at the historic 8 May 1945 Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 25,000 spectators.
Known for its stellar achievements, ES Setif boasts a remarkable trophy cabinet, including eight national league titles, eight domestic cup wins, and two prestigious CAF Champions League trophies. Last season, the club secured sixth place in the Algerian league standings, demonstrating its competitive performance.
Biramahire’s move to ES Setif comes after parting ways with Rwanda's Rayon Sports, where he had recently signed a two-year contract extension, showcasing his consistent impact on the field.
