A new era of gospel creativity is emerging in Rwanda, and its name is Nuru Wave Festival. Following a powerful debut launch experience held on November 30th, 2025, SEE Muzik officially announces the first full edition of Nuru Wave Festival, set to take place on August 16th, 2026 at Mundi Center in Kigali.
More than a music event, Nuru Wave is a youth movement expressed through creativity, culture, and faith designed to become an annual summer gathering celebrating the sound, identity, and artistic voice of a new generation.
Derived from the Swahili word Nuru, meaning “Light, ” the festival represents hope, purpose, truth, and transformation. And like every wave, once it begins to move, it cannot be stopped.
Nuru Wave exists to carry light into culture through music, fashion, dance, poetry, storytelling, art, and authentic human connection.
At the center of the movement is a vision to create a space where young people feel seen, inspired, and at home. A place where creativity becomes more than entertainment but a language of healing, belonging, faith, and transformation.
The festival is intentionally focused on the rise of Urban Gospel Culture amplifying artists and creatives using modern sounds and artistic expression to communicate timeless truth.
From Afro Gospel, Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B, Afrobeat, Spoken Word, Dance, and Creative Performance, Nuru Wave seeks to redefine how the Gospel is experienced by this generation.
“We believe creativity can carry the message of Jesus into places traditional methods may never reach, ” says SEE Muzik.
“Nuru Wave exists for the young people searching for identity, hope, purpose, and belonging especially within urban culture. ”
As Rwanda’s creative scene continues to grow, Nuru Wave aims to become a cultural platform for both emerging and established artists across Rwanda, East Africa, and beyond bringing together musicians, designers, dancers, poets, actors, visual artists, and storytellers united by one mission: using creativity to bring light into culture.
The vision extends far beyond a one-day festival experience.
Throughout the year, Nuru Wave will also organize school tours, youth outreach experiences, creative conversations, and community-centered activations focused on faith, identity, mental health, purpose, and creative expression.
Through music and storytelling, the movement hopes to remind young people that they are valued, heard, and never alone. At its core, Nuru Wave is not simply a concert. It is a movement. A creative revival. A home for a generation. A movement committed to proving that faith and creativity are not opposites but powerful forces capable of transforming culture together.
As preparations begin for the August 2026 edition, SEE Muzik is inviting artists, creatives, churches, brands, partners, media platforms, volunteers, and visionaries to become part of shaping what many believe could become one of the defining urban gospel and youth culture experiences in Rwanda.
This is more than an event. This is the sound of a generation rising. This is light in motion. This is Nuru Wave.
