On Thursday, February 26, 2026, BAL organizers unveiled the list of participating clubs for the sixth edition of the continental competition.
The teams have been divided into two conferences: the Kalahari Conference and the Sahara Conference.
Kalahari Conference
The Kalahari Conference will feature:
Johannesburg Giants (South Africa)
Al Ahly Ly (Libya)
APR (Rwanda)
Dar City (Tanzania)
Nairobi City Thunder (Kenya)
Petro de Luanda (Angola)
Games in this conference will be played in Pretoria, South Africa, from March 27 to April 5, 2026.
Sahara Conference
The Sahara Conference will include:
FUS de Rabat (Morocco)
Al Ahly (Egypt)
Ville de Dakar (Senegal)
JCA Kings (Côte d’Ivoire)
Club Africain (Tunisia)
Maktown Flyers (Nigeria)
Sahara Conference games will take place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, Morocco, from April 24 to May 3, 2026.
Road to Kigali
The top four teams from each conference will advance to the BAL 2026 Finals, which will be held in Kigali, Rwanda, from May 22 to May 31, 2026. This will mark the sixth edition of the Basketball Africa League, continuing to grow as one of Africa’s premier basketball competitions.
