On Saturday, August 29, 2026, Rwahi Sports Center Football Academy, based in Rulindo District and founded by Kamoso, played a friendly match against Dynasty Football Academy from Rubavu District.
Beyond the football match, the two academies joined hands to provide community-based health insurance (Mutuelle de Santé) to vulnerable survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi from the Rwahi area, where the academy operates and supports children.
The event also featured discussions involving the two sides.
Parents whose children are enrolled at Rwahi Sports Center expressed their appreciation for the academy’s activities, praising the positive impact it has had on their children and the support they continue to receive.
The academy provides its services to children free of charge, with parents not required to pay any fees.
The management of Dynasty Football Academy from Rubavu welcomed the opportunity to play the friendly match and commended Kamoso for his commitment and passion for supporting children and helping them grow in a positive environment.
Nsengiyaremye Sylvestre ‘Kamoso’, who is currently based in Germany, said the main objective of his initiative is to work closely with parents to raise children responsibly, while encouraging them to stay away from bad habits that could lead them to drop out of school or engage in drug abuse.
Kamoso said discipline is one of the most important qualities for any young footballer who wants to succeed.
“A good footballer must have discipline because it is the key to achieving what they want. Your talent will benefit you if you study well, train hard and listen to advice from your parents and those taking care of you. If you listen to what your coaches tell you, there is no doubt that you will become a good footballer,” Kamoso said.
Parents praise the academy for transforming their children
Musengimana Cresence, whose child plays at Rwahi Sports Center, said joining the academy has helped her child become more confident while also developing his football talent.
“Having my child here at this academy helps him feel free, have fun and play with other children. Before joining, he was a shy child who lacked confidence, but since he came here, he has become more outgoing. Even his progress on the football pitch is encouraging, and I believe his future could be bright,” she said.
She added that the academy has also contributed to improvements in her child’s behaviour and performance at school.
“He used to be a very quiet child, but since joining this academy, you can see that he is now more comfortable around others. He has good discipline, and even his intelligence and performance at school have improved,” she added.
Cresence called on Kamoso to continue supporting the children and maintain the commitment he has shown toward their development.
Former Police FC player calls for more support for Kamoso
Isonga Isai, a former Police FC player who is now a coach at Rwahi Sports Center, said Kamoso deserves greater support from the country because of the work he is doing for young footballers.
“The country should support Kamoso. An initiative like this deserves to be known. The fact that he is doing this outside the city makes it even more significant. I believe the country should support him, whether it is through footballs or other equipment. The pitch is good and there are children with talent,” Isai said.
He added that he is committed to helping the academy’s attacking players, having played in a similar position himself, while also hoping to contribute to the development of Rwanda’s national team, Amavubi, by helping produce players capable of scoring goals for the country.
